The battery had a broken connection internally or a shorted cell. Usually If a cart is going to be stored for longer than a few months you should just unhook the battery - cable. There is very little need for a maintainer for the batteries in these. It's likely the maintainer dried the battery out by holding the charge level up for that long.
The only thing you really need to check is that your battery cables are in good shape (no cuts or abrasion through the insulation). Check the white cable to the starter as well. And check the starter gen output voltage after replacing the battery. And only use the maintainer for short term use like a few days or maybe a week at a time. |
