Default G2 Driven Clutch Spring Shimming

I've got a g2 that has a weak driven clutch spring. I was wondering if anyone has shimmed the backside of the clutch against the clip to help increase spring tension. Obviously I plan on replacing the spring with a high tourqe spring but that a few weeks down the road.

I would not advise shimming that, the clip can break. Most will change out the clip to a spacer and use a factory spring or a Umax spring. Don't get a cheap HD spring, they are too stiff and can damage your clutches and don't work well. Plowman's sells good springs too.

You can also remove the spring and try stretching it out. I've done it, and it might help in a pinch for a short term solution. If it's an original spring it might not help, they just loose their tension over time. Stretching it can help a bit but it will eventually find it's way back to being squished.
