Default Help speeding up an '85 gas club car

Just new to the golf cart world and bought an oldie. Need help speeding up a 1985 gas powered Club Car without blowing the engine. Suggestions, photos, and how to do it would be helpful.

1st welcome........the only real way to gain any speed is to play with the gov, but if you do so be sure to put a tach on it or you will damage motor theres a very fine line and you can screw up the way the cart is going to run....................................

Easiest way and best way to keep the old flathead in one piece is either HS gears or lift kit and larger tires.

If I put a tach on it, what RPM's should I be running it at?

Book says MAXIMUM RPM is 4000 so I would say you want to keep her below that.

GOOD LUCK
