Default G2 front shocks

I want to paint the springs on my G2 front shocks. Does anyone know how to take the spring off the shock?

You may have to press out the top bolt bushing. Other wise, compress the spring, remove the keeper at the top of the spring, slide the spring off the shock. Not as easy as it sounds tho.

I just finessed masking tape around the shock rod, and painted the whole "coil over assembly".

I agree with bigmac...You don't need to remove the spring. They paint up just fine on the shock. Just tape off the top and bottom and start spraying!

Thanks for the replies. I wanted to keep the shocks black and since I couldn't get them apart I threaded pieces if a paper bag between the shocks and the spring covering the shock, taped up the ends then let the red paint fly. They turned out nice.

Ok, I,,, bring pictures I want to post, to my desk top. Then I reply like I'm doing now. Then I, tap the "Go Advanced" button. A box will pop up and I drag the photos to the area at top of the box that says "Choose File". Try it!!

Like this; my next job!
