CC vs CCW primary clutch question
I have a 1997 club car carry all 2 and someone retrofitted a ccw 290 engine in the cart. The cart I believe was originally a 350 (rev limiter mounted on frame and unhooked). I replaced the primary clutch (don't remember what I bought) I also changed springs and reloaded the driven clutch to match rotation. Installed 24" wheels and tires, removed governor, no limiter, achieved speeds of 26 mph by gps. Installed tac to try to prevent blowing the motor. I now have the opportunity to purchase a 1998 clockwise 290 engine which will allow me to reinstall governor and limiter and start running in forward gear.
My question, will the new clutch on my pre 1997 engine work with no problems on the 1998 engine? I know I will have to change springs and reload the driven clutch. Thanks for any help: |

Re: CC vs CCW primary clutch question
The drive clutches are interchangeable. There are some small washers inside that are suppose to be moved. However, I heard this after I had been swapping them back n forth for some time without doing that and they were working just fine.
