how to tell difference in G2 and G9

hi, i bought a gas yamaha cart and was wondering how you can tell the difference between a G2 or a G9, i can't tell which one it is. I tried to find a serial number, it looks like they are some kind of metal plate that would hold a serial number under the back bumper on the driver side but i dont see any writing on it

The earlier G2 will have an aluminum with black center trim rail around the cowl from the floor, up over the cowl and down to the other side.
It also has tubular A-arms.
The G9 has stamped, more square looking A-arms and a rubber trim piece around the cowl.
There are other differences but these two are the most visual.

i'm thinkin the cup holer is 4 cup on G-9 and 2 cup on G-2 but can,t be Pos,also i think Battery is located on diff sides,but again, been awhile since i had them both side by side

I still haven't been able to tell, it does have a 2 cup holder, and i can't really tell about the A-arms since I havent seen any of the other models. Does both models have a reverse buzzer?

If the plate is on the back bumper instead of the frame cross member it is probably a G2. Post up some pics.....

This was my 1988 Yamaha G2, serial # was right under the drivers Butt,in front of the Battery,on the cross member by the floor, and yes it too had back-up buzzer, till i got the wire cutters out,alarm was over the transaxle , you really just need to locate the serial # thats the tell tale, not guessing..

yeah, cant find any numbers ... the whole cart has been sprayed with a red material, called scorpion protective coatings, and its thick stuff , ill just have to post some pics and maybe someone can identify it

I agree. Post up some pics... I have a G1 and a G9.. My G9 has a 2 cup holder... If it helps any
