Street legal?
Does anyone have info on what street legal actually means when speaking of golf carts? I want to find out about Gov. rebates for electric vehicles and how it would apply to a rebuilt cart for that purpose. ie. can the rebuild cost be claimed as a deduction??

Re: Street legal?
Tom, for a cart to be street legal it has to have a minimum of headlights, taillights, brake lights, turn signals, seatbelts, you can't get the NEV rebate on a rebuild, as far as I have been able to tell the rebate is only on the purchase of a new street legal cart.

Re: Street legal?
No - it has to be sold as a NEV or LSV w/ 17 digit VIN # - must be new - cannot be a converted golf cart
