Default G14 clutch overhaul

has anyone installed a repair kit in a G14 clutch a buddy of mine had a dog let loose on his stock clutch, I have mine on a clone so I took the cover off and there is a lot of play in the bushings, have never done one, wondering if there is a video of this repair, would like to rebuild it before something comes loose at high RPM and comes up and bites ne in the a##. Thanks.

Not hard at all. Just buy the weight kits with the plastic washers and get new pins also. Use a propane torch to "loosen" the blue loctite so you won't strip the hex head screws (that would be very bad). Then use loctite on the screws when reassembling. The hardest part is getting the clutch cap and bolt out with the gas tank right there...silly japanese engineers.

Like your attitude But only G5's, G8's and G14's had gas on the drivers side making clutch work harder. Good luck with your project.

I haven't found any screws in my clutch or in the kit I got for a G14, so I am just going to do what I have to do to take it apart one at a time and put it back the same way.

Blue arrow - little Alan key screws - Loosen and drive out pin (yellow arrow). Be careful to replace the little plastic washers (green arrow). Red arrow shows screws that hold the plastic slides in. I didn't have to remove these to replace any of the other parts. At least I don't remember having to remove these screws.

This bolt can be a little hard to get out unless you use an impact.

IF you put a bar or big screw driver in your clutch to keep it from turning if you dont use an impact make sure you put it where the clutch is the most solid. The ears will brake off and you dont want that either.
