Default 1995 yamaha g14 looking for speed and power( just better then stock)

I just bought a Yamaha g14 everything seems to be stock motor and rear end wise. the cart does seem to have a lift and oversized tires. I was looking for a little better performance was wondering what way to go. Thank you for your time

Welcome. If you want to keep everything in a "stock" configuration, then Plowmans is the way to go. Money well spent. Don't d ick around buying this and then trying that. Others will agree...

I drove my G14 from 2008-2014 all the while adding performance items.Do adding performance items the stock engine make a noticeable difference yes.Do they make a big difference NO. There is just not much in the way in the way of real power increasing components for the G2-14 engine. The later yamahas yes . If your looking for a real difference save your money and do a swap.

Yes, the question becomes....what kind of power are you looking for? What are you wanting to do with the cart?

It should do around 30mph with governor cranked, everything else stock. You did not say how fast it goes now. My statement assumes 22" tires, good running engine, throttle adjusted correctly, & clutches in good working order. A UMAX spring for the rear clutch helps alot for big-tire carts, and its cheap (like $15).

With the governor tie wrapped the top speed will increase. That is simple enough if that is all you want. And as cgtech stated with the umaxx spring it will accelerate slightly faster.

If you want more power, better acceleration, and 40 mph, you could go with a Vegas Carts 460 engine. With the billet rod and cam they will rev to 7000 rpm and you can exceed 40 mph. The torque increase over stock is excellent.
