Default Re: 2010 YRDA 3 Clutch Solutions?

I just replaced these Team clutches on my friends 2009 for him. Yamaha came out with a retrofit kit that includes a new Yamaha drive clutch, secondary clutch, drive belt and new center bolts. Part number is 99999-JW8-G6-PC. If you Google this number you can find several choices. I got the kit for $342 + shipping. They have it on eBay but is considerably more. Owner of the cart was very pleased with the new clutches.

Your lucky...most Team primary clutch's bind/won't slide easy like yours. Glen at Gboost is a clutch wizzard (and a very nice man to talk to). If the primary moves freely and the secondary sheave pulley's aren't worn to thin, one of his "yellow" springs (or stiffer for better torque on a lifted car) and a new belt would do wonders for clutch ingagement. Lot's of good info on this thread Good job from BGW members once again!

I have a 2007 G29, with the Team clutches. My secondary had worn so thin, that holes started to appear in the sheave. I had Don Plowman rework both of my clutches (I had to buy a new secondary), and he installed a spring in the primary to keep it from "grabbing" too early. The primary does not normally have a spring and the sheave will slide freely if everything is working properly. After the rebuild, I have no complaints with the Team clutches. They engage smoothly, shift smoothly, and downshift completely.
Check with Plowman's. His rebuild of the Team clutches, will likely be cheaper than replacing them with the newer FBT clutches.
