Sounds like your secondary clutch sliding sheave bushing is binding up. If you have a white or red aftermarket spring get rid of it. Take off the sheaves and inspect the bushings and shaft. Lightly grease the shaft when done with dry lithium and one pump of grease in the sliding sheave and you might be set to go. I just had the same exact problem but my white spring caused the bushing to burn up. Save it if you can but its no big deal to replace the bushing.

The Red springs come from Redhawk, No we do not sell them. Yes I am a distributor for G-Boost products.

The Plowmans kit that I have on the 22 has a red/orange spring. Good stuff...

I hear either a new stock spring or a plowmans is your best bet.
