Default carb leak

Just got a new aftermarket carb and gas drips out of the screw that holds the bowl on. checked the float and all is good can you just use a bit of rtv silicone to seal it?

obvious question here but is it tight? don't over tighten..... when you pull it apart make sure the copper washer is good without any nicks or bends. that should seal up by pinching the bowl against the bottom tube for the "seat" inside the bowl. not quite sure what carb but there might be a gasket on the inside of the bowl also.

just had the same thing happen with an aftermarket carb, turns out the lip was banged over and the bowl wasn't seating on the gasket.
