Front suspension
Can anyone tell me the difference between the 96 and 97 front suspension? Looking at getting the Jake's wheel base extender and the web site says 97 and up. Just curious what changed.

Re: Front suspension
No difference that I'm aware of in 97. There was a change to the spindle and hub design later on, around 04.
There were some other major changes made to the cart around 97, so their listing is probably focused on those, but no changes to the front suspension were made as far as I know. |

Re: Front suspension
From what I can find, they want you to buy this kit here for 96 and older. I'm not home right now to see if my a arms look like those

Re: Front suspension
What exactly are you trying to do? And what year is the cart?
If you're looking at lift kit the REAR suspension is what you need to be concerned with because there is a difference in the rear axle and engine cradle design on those. 96 and Older have a different rear shock setup than 97 and newer have. Front suspension stayed the same on the DS carts from 89 or so to 04 when they made a change to the front spindles. The A arms, spring, shocks, and steering gear all stayed the same for like 20 years. I think the A arm design was sightly different 82-89 and changed to the current design around 89 or 90. But unless you have an 82-89 cart you don't need to worry about that. |

Re: Front suspension
OK. I have and allsports 6ninch spindle lift on the cart already. I'm looking at this extender kit to bring the front tires out more to minimize rubbing the frame when turning and hopefully clear 23 in tires in the future. Currently I have 22x11-8
