water in the oil
havent messed with the golf cart lately but my brother in law uses it to pull a wagon to feed the cattle. anyways checked the oil and it appeared to have water in it. it was brownish color and runny like water would be. you guys have any ideas how this may of happened? i dumped the oil and put a new filter and new quart and a half in it....... seemed to run fine but just has me stumped......the area where the cattle are is really muddy and wet when it rains out. its goes through it no problems but a motor that is sealed and air cooled how could water get in?> the dipstick is tight.....

Re: water in the oil
If you run in very damp conditions, you may get some condensation in the oil.Make sure the breather and air-cleaner are sealed and not getting water in from splashing or rain leaking into the engine-bay from the seat or access-cover.

Re: water in the oil
Check the oil again in a month. Perhaps the cart went swimming one day. No one did it, it just happened and got put away wet (kids....?).

Re: water in the oil
I have had motorcycles for years. It is common for condesation to appear in the engine oil from changes in temps. It is very coomon during the winter months. Keep an eye on it after oil change. My guess is you will be fine.

Re: water in the oil
May look at the plug, could be the carb is flooding and it was gas in the oil?

Re: water in the oil
i do know if you park it in the garage on cold days after it's been running hard it will cause condensation. Just like a car that you always park in garage will have the exhaust rust out faster than one thats never parked inside.
