Re: Another EzGo ST480 front lift question. Need help asap
Thanks,I need the leaf-thickness(measure with a caliper or micrometer if possible),the length of each leaf, arch, length of flat at front,When you measure the length, measure along the top of the leaf, not end to end.I'm gonna make a set at work this winter(or sooner if it stays slow). If I remember correctly they are .262" thick leafs, unless they are heavier for the ST.Thanks!!

I did not extend my shocks. You think that is why i am not getting any lift from the 2" blocks and 3/4"spacer i installed in the rear of the front leafs?

Yes, when you lowered the entire suspension your shocks will no longer reach the mounts on top the axle. Putting the springs on top also prevents the shocks from reaching. You need to make or buy extenders or longer shocks, that will get the lift your after.

Re: Another EzGo ST480 front lift question. Need help asap
Well....... I guess that would explain why both the seals on the shocks are leaking and no longer have any fluid in them. I went offroading over the weekend and i think with my shocks being maxed out, i broke the seals in them while hitting large bumps and ruts
BTW: Last night i took off the nuts, washers and bushings from the bottom of the shocks and nothing happened. I was expecting the front end to "pop" up but it didnt. I am assuming it didnt because i no longer have any fluid left in my shocks and they are stretched out???? So here is another stupid question (and sorry for all of them, having a hard time grasping the concept) If i put new longer shocks on, this will raise the front of the cart? wouldnt the weight of the cart keep the front end down and put pressure on the new shocks preventing it from lifting up? As stated above, i removed all the hardware from the lower shocks where it bolts to the shock mount and it didnt raise. Is this where the new shock comes into play? Do you happen to know what length shock i need to buy now? I would rather just put longer shocks on instead of extenders especially since i need new ones anyway |

Well i just bought a set of Air shocks for the front. They extend from 13" Compressed to 21" extended. Hopefully this will give me the clearance i need. I will post some pics once i get them on.

Re: Another EzGo ST480 front lift question. Need help asap
Those are about half way(3"-4"). Right now my stock suspension is maxed out. I am going to swap the leafs back over the axle and should be able to get some more lift. It is sitting pretty darn level as it is. If i go up anymore, i will have to add longer shackles in the rear.
Those are 25" tires i am clearing no problem so not sure i will go up any more. |
