Re: New owner 91 EZGO GXI 800
Just for information purposes, I have a 92 GXT 800 that has the 244 2 stroke but my 93 GXI 804 has the 295 4 cycle.
The 92 smoker cart is in line for restoration after I big block my TXT. |

Re: New owner 91 EZGO GXI 800
UPDATE:
The engine says: Robin, 244cc Model No EC25-3P8 Motor No. 90-06475 What do you good members think I should do first? I need an intake manifold and carb before I can do anything? Here are some more pics of my project cart. |

At this point before spending money on parts how about putting a battery in it and a starter belt on then check the compression 100 psi. + then you can move on. See if in fact you can turn the engine by hand first with the plug out.

The reed cage is also missing and a hard find. If you can find reed cage and intake, carbs are still available, get the larger 21 mm, it does make a big difference over the stock 18 mm carb. It will bolt up and run with no mods.

Re: New owner 91 EZGO GXI 800
The fuel tank can can come from any ezgo marathon golf cart, early 80's on up to early 90's. The engine parts have to be be 3pg parts. The muffler alone in that cart is worth nearly a grand to replace it, yours looks good other than the missing hold down strap. Make sure to to replace that. Search the for sale section of this forum and other forums for used marathon parts, you may be able to find a donor cart for parts. A manual for for a 89 and up marathon will work for this cart. You can check with ezgo, it may still be available also search this site for a manual, there are some archived here. Searching for what you need will take some time but you will find what you need.

Re: New owner 91 EZGO GXI 800
Thank you for responding to my post.
Yeah, I need a tank for sure and it is good to know that I can get one that is not specific to my cart. Still having a hard time finding the reed cage and not a lot of people I have talked to know where I can get one. Even been talking to a few guys that work on can carry parts for the older E-Z-GO carts. Yes the muffler is in great condition and if I have to I might just part the thing out. I would hate to because it has a lot of potential. But it is what it is. Anybody what to buy a Muffler? LOL I am beginning to think that E-Z-GO only put the Robin 244cc 3PG engine in these carts for that one year? Anybody know different? Also I found an owners / operation and service manual on eBay for $7.50 and free shipping. Let me know if this is the right one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/360494116180...84.m1423.l2649 Let me know, Thanks |
