Arrow Trouble getting into forward

97 TXT 4 stroke robin eng
Have trouble getting into forward. Once in forward it stays, until you switch to reverse. it shifts into reverse just fine.
Adjusted shift linkage and it's moving shaft in rear end all the way as far as it will get,
Sounds/feels like it is not catching the gear. It trys to move a little and I hear a click in the rear and the eng revs up, when the rpm comes down I hear a repeated click. Sometimes pushing the car foward and starting the eng it will catch and go.
If someone will point me in the right direction to the repair manuel for rear ends I would Thank You.

check shifting cable first, sounds like the cable is not putting the trans all the way into forward, adjust cable so it goes into forward more

I just did the ones on my 95 it wouldn't go into forward either. I found the reverse cable had been crushed so it wasn't moving freely into forward. I ended up pulling both and only replacing one. I think it was like $25.

The cable is moving the shaft on the rearend all the way. The problem apears to be inside the rear end. I would like the ezgo repair manuel for the rearend.

Take the rear hubs off before you go any further, the hubs have splines where they slide on the axle shafts and the spline inside the hub strips out all the time on these carts, remove that big nut in the center of the rear hub and the hub should slide off, look at those hubs first.

Been buzy getting ready for the end of the year and have not had time to work on golf cars. The weather here in Oklahoma for the next week is COLD. I'll post results when I get the hubs off and try to post pics after I get them out.
One side is reverse and the other foward... Which side if foward? Driver??

Turned out to be the shaft that goes inside was sticking, a little wd-40 on the shaft and it would turn just a little more and enough to go into and out of foward
