This is the shim I made for mine, It is 7/16 thick and made from iron pipe.. Works great!

No problem! I used 1/2 threaded rod with big washers to press it back together. It's tough to get line up just be sure its dead on before you press it all the way back on....

OK. so I found out it's not the driven clutch. Anyone else have a clue to what makes this thing fall flat? I p/u a new used head thought it might be warping once its warm. What do y'all think? Anyone know what the tourq is on the head. Just want to be sure on this.

Torque 22-25 ft-lb ish... pill the head and run a fine file over it that will show ya if it's flat or not Slam a fresh gasket in it for sure! there cheep..

Thanks, and the best place to find just the gasket? Most want to sell the whole kit, that I've seen.

I would just spend the $20 on line somewhere and get the whole set Head, Base, &Ex. a site sponsor.... or may be Ebay...

Did replacing the head make a huge difference? I have a 90 marathon and it is doing the exact same thing. Runs great for 3-4 minutes until it gets hot then its like the anchor is dragging. Check compression and its 110psi hot. I as well am getting desperate for answers why this is happening. Doing the barbeque tonight on muffler to make sure its not plugged. Thanks in advance for any further help.
