Loss of spark after cart is hot
Have a '98 EZGO gas TXT, starts fine but after getting engine hot ,then stopping loses spark on restart . Installed new starter generator, new battery, cleaned all grounds, tested coil ( 2.5 ohms),tested pulsar at 21 ohms. Could pulsar be getting hot on side of engine and causing problem? Really stumped !! What to check next ?!

Re: Loss of spark after cart is hot
sounds like you need an ignitor. its mounted beside your solenoid on drvs side under the black cover.

Re: Loss of spark after cart is hot
Overheated coil I think. Used to happen on my very old cars. Run fine when cool, lose high voltage side coil when hot, but at that time the low voltage side of coil will still be ok.

Re: Loss of spark after cart is hot
If it sparks again when it is cold, something is getting hot and loosing contact. Usually a coil but could be the pickup.

I have also seen the connector on the pickup wires (red and black comming out of engine) to the electronic ignition give alot of trouble in those carts when they get a little older.

Re: Loss of spark after cart is hot
Here's an old trick....Bring a bottle of drinking water with you, when the cart won't start pour the water over the coil. It will cool the coil. If the cart starts immediately after doing this replace the coil.

Also make sure your cooling fins are fairly clean. If they are blocked it will make it run hotter and possibly cause this issue.. And the water idea is a good one scottyb.. I would normally use beer but that would be alcohol abuse..
