Work Hourse 350 idles but doesnt accelerate
Starts and will idle good Go to take off it goes then falls on its face, pops thru the carb.will back fire thru exhaust down hill when I let off throttle.pull choke cable out maybe a 1/4 will take off and go.Rebuilt old carb Twice then bought all New carb , fuel pump , filter , hoses ,air filter , plugs ,adjusted valves -120 # per cylinder /// throwing money at it . LOL

compression is pretty low, should be in the 160 range.

Did you verify fuel pump output? Should be a steady pulse of fuel. Disconnect from carb and cycle engine. If it's only a dribble then remove the vacuum line from crankcase and see if it's full of oil.

Check if air filter is clean. Or blocked.

Good point. That too. No mention if air filter has been replaced. Also make sure intake system isn't open, like a large hole in intake hose.

Found the new carb came with the wrong jet!! Thanks for all the help
