Default Fuel Pump Base

I am working on a 2pg cart for a friend. There is a black plastic base that sits between the gasket and the o-ring on the Mikuni fuel pump. The black plastic spacer is broken in half at the o-ring. Can this be replaced? I tried to run the motor of a gravity fuel supply (fuel pump off), but the pressure comming out of the fuel pump hole and the sparks flying out of it is difficult to plug up with my thumb and a leather glove. Any thoughts?

ezgo calls them insulators, Do you know where I can find one?
Part # 14431G1

Also the manifold that the fuel pumps sits on seams to be positive pressure not a vacuum. Any Ideas?

If you cant find one, you can epoxy a fitting in the block and use a later model remote mount fuel pump.

Thank you for your answer. That is probably the best solution. What powers the remote pump?

Do you know why I have possitive pressure comming out of the manifold?

You can get either 12V powered pumps that could possibly be wired right to the pedal, or impulse pumps that will work off the vacuum of the intake or the puff coming from the block.

If you couldn't wire the 12V pump to the pedal, you could at least run a toggle switch to it but you'd need to remember to turn it on and shut it down.

Pressure out of the intake...umm...Reed valves maybe??
