1 awg cables. What needs replaced?
I have a stock iq ds cart. I am looking at replacing the battery cables with 1 awg. What other cables need to be 1 awg as well? How much cable am I looking to need? Thanks.

Re: 1 awg cables. What needs replaced?
Unless you already have the cable 1 awg is over kill. For an IQ cart from what I have learned reading this forum, 4 gauge will handle everything you will likely put on the cart.
When you change them you need the battery cables, plus the cables that go to motor and controller. 4 gauge will fit through the hole in the OBC without the need for a stud. Put one end on then pass it through the OBC before putting the other end on. If you go with the heavy cable Scotty B has the stud for the OBC stud hole. |

Re: 1 awg cables. What needs replaced?
With a stock cart? None need to be replaced with 1 AWG.... Most carts come stock with 6 gauge, lots of people go with 4 gauge and/or opt for a little bigger with 2 gauge as it only cost a few bucks more.... Anything bigger is not going to do anything for you and can be hard to bend as well as route...
