Default Forward/Reverse upgrade for PDS?

This weekend I took my cart to a 4th of July party and it sat out in the rain. When I went to leave, I put it in reverse and it worked as expected. When I flipped it to forward it still went in reverse. After driving home backwards, I did a quick search and saw that this could be caused by moisture in the switch and can be resolved by drying it out with a hair drier. Mine seems to be working fine now but is there a switch that is less likely to fail due to moisture? I hate getting stuck away form home. Cart is a 2002 PDS.

Thanks in advance!

There is a Club Car F/R switch that mounts on the seat pedestal where the F/R lever does on a series drive cart. That location might be a little less likely to get rained on, and the switch assembly can be mounted upside down to make it less susceptible to rain penetration.

ScottyB uses the one I'm referring to to run the reversing contactor he sells for series carts and is circled in the attached picture I stole off his website.

Also, the f/r switch for a PDS is simply a spst center-off switch and the marine grad ones are darned near waterproof, especially when a boot is installed on the toggle.

Also stops toddlers and dogs from bumping the direction switch while moving.

I'll go ahead and look into he marine option. I like having it on the dash, just want to prevent us from being stranded in foul weather.

I would go look at your local boat shop and see what they have. A marine rocker will work but if I remember right the FnR switch on the Ez is a weird size..

Also remember you need a three position rocker with neutral off

Just out of curiosity, do you need the center off?

I have enough money in the cart now that I should get a unique key so I may as well make a new dash plate and then I can put any switch in that I find. These things always lead to me spending more money than necessary...

Sorry to bring this back from the dead but I am just getting around to ordering a switch. I assume I need to ensure that the switch is rated for 36v? I was looking at something like the link but it's only rated for 12v.
