Default Underseat foam?

My 81 ds had about 3/4' thick foam strips all around the body where the seat sit. Doesn't look quite stock but worked well to keep the plywood away from the fiberglass. I carefully removed it to paint, [it is in the kitchen somewhere] and can glue it back on but was wondering what was there originally. What does everyone use?
thanks.

I would use silicon rubber.

1" wide rubber strip stapled to the seat bottom.

My brother was here for Christmas and I asked him what the foam was used for. He said it is used to put on a pickup box under a cap. 1/2' thick and 1 1/4 wide. I'm thinkin' it is going back on the seat as it seems to be well suited for the job.

Most weather strip foam for pick-up beds are "peel-n-stick" (sold with double sided tape applied to the foam before packaging). You can get the thin vinyl tape with adhesive on both sides at your auto supply shop.

Thanks. It is/was peel and stick which made it removable with a little patience. I have double sided tape already or spray on upholstery adhesive.
