HID has always been brighter than LED. Just an overall better light output/performance.

However, we are talking golf carts so you might have a valid point. Not sure on your use for you golf cart but the light from LEDs should be all that you need.
I'll give them a try and post my experience. For $54, it seems pretty easy and they indicated that these are have the beam spread of headlights as opposed to being focused

This is the one I used. They are extremely bright and they're cheap.

LED bulbs generate less heat per lumen than HID. LED's will typically be the least concern regarding melting or overheating surrounding stuff.

The fans (on some) and heat sinks (more common) on LED bulbs are needed because the LED's and supporting electronics can't survive the extremely high temperature that HID bulbs and halogen operate at.

Aftermarket LED headlights have been known to melt wire harnesses due to the heat being generated is outside of the headlight fixture within the electrical components.

HID heat is within the bulb itself. I use HID bulbs with ceramic bases from The Retrofit Source.

All I'm saying is choose wisely.

I agree, the LED bulbs posted by the OP are 2,250 lumens each, the cheaper ones from amazon are only 650 lumens each.

There is quite a lot of misrepresentation in so called LED watts and how they translate to actual lumens output.

You have seen melted wires with LED and I have seen melted light housings and reflectors with HID. Too much wattage will melt stuff.

And it was more than likely a "55 watt" HID kit which is not a good idea in most applications which is what I previously stated on the first page.
