2014 CC Precedent motor
My stock motor went out and needs to be replaced. What motor is my best option to replace it? Where can it be purchased? Is it smart to go with the same IQ motor or something else?

I would use the FSIP speed IQ motor. The controller will limit the top speed but coupled with an Alltrax XCT300 my 2014 is doing 27mph with stock size tires.

The 19MPH speed is limited but the controller but I believe the sensor can be tricked in an IQ motor. Some aftermarket motors will have that built in. However this typically also removes the regen braking. The most cost effective is the Plum Quick Bandit. I think it is about $250 with a good rebuild-able core.
Torque is mostly restricted by the controller as well. You can get some improvement with motors specifically designed for torque but then you will likely not get over 19MPH even with sensor trick. The key to unlocking torque, even for the stock motor is the controller. BTW, what is wrong with your motor? |
