What did I do wrong
So,
I am currently re-wiring all of the electronics on my 91 marathon. I know how to read a schematic and am 100% certain of my connections except for the microswitches on the new style fwd/rev switch. Old style had a total of three microswitches and the new only has two. Forward works great and reverse will work if I momentarily engage the forward switch. Should there be a jumper on the new stlye or did I connect two wires from the third limit switch in the wrong place. All help is appreciated. |

Re: What did I do wrong
If the solenoid clicks in F, it should click in R because the same microswitch is used.
The other two microswitches on the original F/R assembly were used to turn on the reverse beeper and to change the throttle potentiometer from 0-5k to 0-2.5k for half speed reverse. If the solenoid is not clicking in R, the lever on MS-2 is not dropping into the reverse indentation on the outside circumference of the F/R switch cam. If the solenoid is clicking in R, but cart won't run, the contacts in the F/R switch are not making contact in the R position. In either case, the mechanical alignment of the F/R assembly isn't correct. |
