Default New guy to the forum and carts, with a rookie question!

Hey all, I'm Chris. New member to forum, but been browsing for a while now.

I recently bought my first golf cart, a 1997 EZ GO txt. Want to dress it up a bit for something to ride around while camping/tractor pulling/or just with the kids around d the yard.

I've so far got my tunes, and lift done with no trouble. My issue right now is the fender flare kit.

The fronts line up good. The backs do not. There about 6 inches too long for the body on my cart.

Google searches of the model number on the flare kit confirm it is the correct kit.

I'm wondering if there were multiple body styles of this cart?

Anyone else run into this? Suggestions..?

If all else fails I'll cut the flares to fit, I just hate to chop up new parts if it's just me not noticing something.

Thanks in advance guys!

Is the body plastic or metal? EZGO made the medalist beginning in 1994 and I can't remember what year they stopped, but they were different bodies, but everything else was pretty much the same.

1994-2013 E-Z-GO Gas & Electric TXT Golf Carts are all the same flair kit

Wider in the front & narrower in the rear ?

Chris, CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to BGW. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Thanks for the quick response guys.

The previous owner told me it was a 97, the guy at my local cart shop told me that would make it a txt, but mgray70 got it, metal body, with plastic trim all over it.

I'm guessing this is a different body style than the txt and I ended up with the wrong flares?

Yep, you have a medalist! You can switch the bodies and put the plastic txt body on it. That's what I did to my 94 that is in my profile pic because the plastic trim was all busted up on it and it is hard to find replacements for them.

Alright, nice, my body and plastic is in pretty good shape, always stored inside at a golf course, for now I think I'll just keep working on this one, as long as I can still find all the parts I want/need

That plastic trim and body parts are the only thing hard to find, everything else is just like the TXT.
