Default re: OBC Bypass ~ Technnical Tips

Just ordered XTC 400 and solenoid from Scotty B and have an Eagle onboard charger already. Spliced into black wire and hooked it to 12v neg on pack. Now to get rid of OBC do I splice white and blue together or not. Have read so much kind of lost.

If You are using an XCT controller, You don't need to jump the Blue and White wires, just follow the instructions on post #116 below to change the Alltrax settings to work without the jumper.

If You don't want or can not change the settings, then You need to jump the Blue and White wires on the harness side of the OBC 6-pin connector.

Thanks. I can't change the settings, so I will just cut and splice the blue and white wires or take connector apart and remove pins and then splice them.

Other that cutting connector of OBC, anyone know where you can buy another connector? Really don't want to make old OBC useless.

You need to run the Yellow wire that is connected to the solenoid small post directly to Controller B- or pack negative.

You need to run the black 10ga negative wire from the back of the charger receptacle directly to pack negative.
@Sergio
Thanks for the diagram!
after connecting the yellow wire to B-, Connecting the charger receptacle wire to pack ground, and re-routing my new 2ga wire can I just remove the OBC?
Thanks,
Michael

Absolutely, the OBC serves no purpose after the bypass.

I guess I just don't get it. What is the purpose of doing away with the OBC?

The OBC controls the charging of the cart as well as the interlock that prevents the cart from moving when plugged in. When it fails the cart will either not move or not charge, or both. OBC's are expensive. Some choose to bypass it and get a smart charger to eliminate any future OBC failure, and to get the cart moving again.

Just upgraded to xct400 on 2013 precedent. Can I remove obc and still use club car charger?
