1988 Club Car DS Not Moving.
Hey all, new here and have used the forums a lot in the past couple weeks since I picked up a 1988 Club Car DS to get some things fixed, appreciate all the knowledge here. I could not find answer to this one so looking for some guidance.
Background: when I bought it it needed new batteries so replaced those and it ran fine for a few days. About a week later started having trouble with it not engaging in reverse. After a few tries could get it to go. Last week I was driving it and was running fine, we stopped to look at something and it wouldn't move. Could hear the selenoid clicks but no power, so pushed it in with the tractor. Gave it a full charge and nothing. Based on posts here on the forums, I decided to replace all 5 selenoids. I got them all replaced, and tried it before buttoning it up and had selenoid clicks (seemed a bit louder then the old ones) and movement in both forward and reverse. Got everything all tightened up and the kids got in to take for a test ride and nothing. No selenoid clicks, but can hear a faint click which based on these forums seems to be the micro switches attached to the throttle. I have gone back and double check all the wiring to make sure I didn't wire anything wrong but nothing. Took one of the old selenoids and replaced the master (driver side selenoid) to see if any change and nothing. I also took the dash apart to check the key switch as I cannot find a way to easily tell if the key switch is working or not since the lights come on if the key is on or off. Any ideas on where I should look next? |

Check the micro switch at the FNR. Also check the key switch. Follow the key switch wiring and determine if it is positive or negative.

Mooncarter, thanks for the tip. Replaced the FNR micro switch and looks to be working again. Didnt get it done until dark and lost one of the nuts, so need to go get a new one and test out tomorrow, but it was moving in F and R now.
