If you take care of them and maintain them properly they’ll be just fine. I got a carryall from a government auction once with interstate batteries that were 8 or 9 years old. It still had a solid 9-10 miles of range left on it, or at least that’s as far as I ever tried to push it. It was ungodly slow so we didn’t use it very much compared to my other ones

I put some in a cart to sell recently. My experience with them was good. They had quality posts on the top, unlike the common junk batteries around here.

I have also seen Interstates last 7 or 8 years. Not sure if they make them like they used to but if they do that’s a good thing!

Thanks guys. They are rated @160ah which is better than the Brute Force I have now. I was skeptical because of the 1 year warranty. Even the crappy Brute Force comes with an 18 month warranty.

I have 2 interstate from 2012 along with 4 powercell? i think from 2014 I just pulled from my cart that I pulled from my solar rv power to use in testing on my cart before upgrading to 48v lithium... the powercells test better than the 11 year old interstates which are now really kind of failing with the load tester but im amazed they lasted this long especially since there was a whole year they were neglected and got down to like 4-5v each with very low water levels..
I used one of those pwm desulfator things and some form of lead acid water conditioner I added when I first bought the interstates as blems from the interstate dealer in 2012 for $50 each... Oh yeah , thats a thing btw... once they have been sitting on the store shelf for one day too long, the dealers pick them up from the stores and send them back for recycling, but in the meantime you can typically buy them as blems with no warranty for like $50

You can buy Interstate blems here. They’re $100 each for 6v now though and they’re super low quality.

So they dont sell the ones that are being removed from the shelves because they are past optimal freshness date? Thats typically where the blems from my 2 local interstate dealers come from. Ive been buying them for many of my recreational vehicles for years.

It makes sense that they would go up thought... I got almost $70 for dropping off and recycling the 15 year old batteries that were in the last cart I bought.

I’m gonna guess the Costco Interstate battery is a lower quality. Just my thoughts at this point.
