Default Custom TXT Cart Key

Hello,

I am in the process of doing a complete rebuild of my 2005 TXT - I have taken the body & all the wire out and now sanding the frame to be painting...I will supply some pictures later.

My question is when I am done, this will be a very nice cart and I would like it to not have the standard EZGO key that everyone has.

What are my options for a custom/non-standard keys?

thank you,
Jonathan

Okay - I like that one...

What was the key? Also, where did you get your dash board? What are the three switches for? and is the small input for a iPod/iphone input?

Sorry for all the questions, but thank you...

Dash is standard cover available most anywhere. This one in simulated carbon fiber. Includes lockable doors on the cubbies. Easy install and no problems for several years now. Basically snaps over the original dash. Couple of screws.

Key is a barrel key. Also readily available. ~$35 as I recall. Again several years ago.

2 switches (lighted) standard marine contura type. There is a blank in the middle for expansion. One for lights and the other for sound system.

Standard 12v power outlet and yes the little one for standard 3.5mm jack for phones etc. I also have a little battery operated am/fm radio that plugs in there if I want radio music. These days you don't need the little jack as you can do this by bluetooth now.

Do a search for "EZGO unique key switch." I have one and also got it with a lights selection so pranksters can't turn my lights on and leave them on. If you get this switch get extra keys from the same vendor as most local shops may not have the blank to make more. The switch has two sets of terminals that separate the cart voltage from the 12v lights.

I bought one like kernal last week off ebay for just under $20. It was very easy install and works great.

I bought one of those like Kernal on the bay. Its nice, but I noticed that the key comes out in both locations. (On or off) I don't want the key falling out while I'm driving. I don't care to keep fishing it out of my pocket either. Did I just get the wrong one or are they all like that?

My key has 3 positions. OFF-key can be removed, OFF- key can't be removed, and ON- key can't be removed

I just looked at it again. Not only will it come out in either location, it is spring loaded to come out. Guess I'll search for another.
