Re: Custom TXT Cart Key
That's the type they put on security system boxes for on/off. Key has to be able to come out in either position. Think you just ordered the wrong one.

Re: Custom TXT Cart Key
Here is my TXT dash. It has the "unique key" switch with lights. One click to run cart and two clicks to run cart with lights. Key will not fall out. Cart will not work with EZGO "fleet" key. It fits the OEM dash hole and has two sets of terminals. One for the 36v cart power and isolated 12v terminals for the lights.

Re: Custom TXT Cart Key
If you mean the key, I can't remember where I got mine 4 years ago but do a Yahoo or Google search for "EZGO Unique Key Switch With Lights" and you will get various vendors offering it with or without lights selection. It is more expensive than the switches mentioned above. Also, if you want more than two keys, order them with the switch. My local shop did not have the blanks to make more.
I "think" that this is the part number SKU #33639G03. Check to make sure it has 4 terminals and is compatible with an EZGO electric cart with lights. Here are a couple of hits I got when I used the part # for the search. http://www.discountcartparts.com/ind...-key-switches/ http://ezgolfcart.com/i-3598147-igni...nique-key.html https://shop.ezgo.com/products/Ignit...ly-Keyed).html |

Re: Custom TXT Cart Key
Those switches say they are for gas carts. Is that what you used? I don't see how you hook the 12V lights up.

Part # is 33639-G03. It has four terminals and works on my 36v 2007 TXT. |

Re: Custom TXT Cart Key
Ok , I got the switch and installed it. My switch didn't come with any instructions or diagrams. I tested the four tabs and found that two of them "close" at the first position and the second two "close" at the second position. (The first two are still closed)
I assume the first position is for the lights. Does anybody know if there is a difference in the rated contacts for the two switches? Does anybody know what the rating is? Right now, I only have the cart on the first position. Is there much draw on the 400 amp solenoid? I plan to move the cart to the second position and my lights on the first. Since my lights are on a relay, it probably doesn't matter. But just thought I would check. |

Re: Custom TXT Cart Key
The main indicator of amperage is the gauge of the wires that are involved. If the wires are 16 ga. or less, it's a low amperage circuit.
In my 93 CC, the key switch, micro switches and kill switch circuit is protected by a 10 amp in-line fuse. . |
