DCX or XCT
I have an EZGO DCS cart...all stock.
I had a DCX400 that died and looking at either another DCX400 or XCT400. Any advantages of a XCT400 over DCX400 controller to be used on my DCS cart? Skip Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

Re: DCX or XCT
XCT is a newer design. Go for that!

------------ On the other hand, I couldn't get the full performance out of a PDS flavored XCT, or access all the XCT's bells and whistles, until I connected the speed sensor, so I'm wondering if there is actually much performance difference between a DCX and a DCS flavored XCT, other than newer technology. More specifically, is the XCT worth the higher price and more difficult installation than a DCX in a DCS cart with a stock DCS motor? Granted, if an aftermarket motor with a speed sensor was installed, or on the radar as a future upgrade, the XCT would be worth it. |

Re: DCX or XCT
Even if there is no performance difference I would still go with the XCT's newer technology.

Re: DCX or XCT
I have a XCT, so I'm happy with everybody's opinion. But I am courious what "new technology" there really is. (Besides the bright blue color)
Sometimes "new technology" is cheaper manufacturing. |

If you have a DCS cart and get a motor with a speed sensor...is that possible to make it work?

Re: DCX or XCT
The newer technology includes a 32-bit CPU, so the XCT has a lot of processing power, far more than what is actually needed for Amp throughput management, so we will very likely be seeing some interesting attachments and add-on features for the XCT in the future.
Apparently sometime in 2016 they will introduce the Alltrax BMS-48 for a 48V Lithium conversion that communicates with the XCT via the CAN-BUS jack. In the Toolkit programming software, I see several greyed out "User" tabs, apparently for different performance programming for wife, kids, golf, hunting, etc. Hopefully, they will introduce a remote panel of some-kind that will allow us to change "Users" without connecting a laptop. Of course, Hi-Tech isn't for everyone. |

That is a question that Alltrax would be the best place to ask. |

XCT (2015 release) advantages over the DCX (2000 release) The peak and sustained outputs are greater. Regen braking Roll-a-way protection Reverse polarity on the input Reverse polarity on the output USB powered programming Internal precharge (self correcting for 36 or 48 volts) No precharge lockout Should I go on? Okay User custom throttle and torque curves. Infinite amperage and regen adjustment. Infinite reverse speed adjustment Infinite throttle rate. Self correcting throttle sensor Optional cooling fan Rpm limit Golf and street modes And more like Direct connections = no adapters Integrated heat sink |
