Default Re: EZGO TXT Series Controller Swap to PDS??

you are correct helirich-the problem is-if you dont upgrade everything you will have all kinds of problems-it is like putting a big block in a pinto-it goes faster but you now need bigger brakes, suspension ect...

only upgrading controller will help hillclimbing, but all the other components will start failing(F/R switch, cables, solenoid, ect)

so it can be done IF you stick with an upgraded SERIES controller-not upgrading the rest of the system will give a potential loss of performance and reliability-imo.

Thank you to everyone for the answers.
So what is considered an upgraded "Series" controller? Is this something stock from EZGO, or is this an after-market part? Is there a recommended "Series" controller that I should use, so I do not have to upgrade all the other components?

I don't believe there is anything stock from EZGO. But I think Curtis and Alltrax both make series controllers. If you don't want to change much, you could get a 400 amp controller and maybe go to 4guage wires. This would give you more torque, but not any more top speed. (Better on hills)

If you got a 400 series controller that excepts both 36 and 48 volts, you would have a slight upgrade now and could upgrade voltage later. (Must change some other stuff too)
