Default 99 TXT upgrade

Hello everyone, been reading up on carts and finally took the plunge

Picked up a used 1999 TXT with upgraded controller and motor AXE 4855, Solenoid, and a D&D motor ES-51A-41. Just wanted to say thanks for all the great information on here and look forward to a mild build.

Couple of question on my first mod..Battery cables, and battery's.

First Cables, purchased 2 gauge welding cables, plan on soldering them together and making my own. What is the recommended solder for the job?? Silver solder 15% ??

Batterys
I purchased the cart at a great deal, i was told the battery's needing replaced soon, no probelm. I since brought the cart home and adding 4 gallons of distilled water to them and charged them up. Not 100% sure where i stand but plan on doing some battery testing. Cart does run 19mph on stock wheels, not to bad, but here comes the question. Buy 36v again or just go with the 48v? I don't have a problem buying a charger, DPI is in my near future. My main concern is motor rpms and not exceeding its limits.

Planning on adding a back seat and 12 to 14 inch rims no lift kit.

`99 series-i assume?

what are you doing with the cart?

i did my own 2g- 600 strand wielding cable set for mt cart-did a solid job-but they are a bit ugly compared to scottyB`s set...

my buddy bought scotty`s cable set and i wouldn't waste my time making my own set again....his are awesome....

problem is though-i cant show them to my friends-cause the porn filter here keeps blocking the image!!! just kidding-they are beautiful though...

if your budget allows-you might want to grab a set of his cables...

i think 48v is the way to go for a series cart-mine is 36v and i could use the extra volts....

Yes series cart

Mostly running around the neighborhood and camping, just bought a toy hauler and i felt the need for a toy to go inn it

I solder battery cables all the time for boats. But today's high amp carts i'm afraid they would melt the low temp solder, i don't want to find out the hard way.

Do u still run a stock motor??

I'm just concerned about running a DD Es-51A-41 motor, that's in my cart now, on 48volts.

Ok Thanks... do you have a recommendation for a HD F&R switch?? I was looking at cables last night and the stock switch is in rough shape.

YES you can.....you mentioned your solenoid....what type/size is it? do your self a favor, especially of you are going to jump to 42 or 48v get the SD solenoid, Scottyb has those too.

other than that.....all you should need other than what you have is to get a new charger, and YES, scottyb has those too....and highly recommend his as well.
