I don't know. I have a series Alltrax 4855, but that may also be available for a non-series cart.

If it is a DCS carts, 36 volt on the orange wire on pin 4 would do the same thing Yurtle was talking about in a previous post with the switch.

Welp, that's def the easiest fix that I've had so far! Thanks Yurtle for the sound advice!

I feel 100% better now with regards to throwing a grandbaby or 3 from the seat. Thanks again!

And here's the wiring diagram for an Alltrax 4855, which is series. Obviously we don't know exactly what was done, as he has no backup beeper, 1/2 speed reverse, or FNR.

Mgray thx for the reply. I need to learn the terminology so I can better communicate. To make it worse this cart is def a Frankenstein. I need to find out things like whether it is DCS or PDS or whatever.

Going downhill it is just free-wheeling, no motor braking at all. Does this tell me anything?

if it is a DCS and has an Alltrax controller in it chances are the speed sensor has been disabled which would also disable the regen braking as well. Does it have a tow/run switch? Can you get the numbers off the controller? DCX, NPX, etc?

He already said it was an Alltrax 4855. I searched Alltrax' website, and the only 4855 I can find is a series.

I also did a quick search for D&D 170 motor, and could only find series. Just sayin..

You may be right. The series fnr could have been replaced with a reversing contactor. I was just going by the fact that he said the fnr handle had been replaced by the dash switch and that is common in the DCS carts. The first three letters on that control would tell us what it is, or how many small wires it has in the wiring harness plug.
