Default How to wire 2 motors in a resistor card

I have 2 marathon carts that are essentially identical. I want to chop them up and make a dual rear axle/dual motor cart. I have no idea how to wire this. Will I need to run dual resistors? 36 or 72 volt battery pack?

Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

When the chassis is complete I'm going to make a dump box for it with an electric trailer jack to tip it.

To do it efficiently you should use electronic speed controls
You may be able to to use 1 large control that can handle the load of both motors.
I'm not sure but im sure someone else on here can help you.

You probably want 48v or even more, you’re going to need a heavy-duty forward reverse switch probably some big relays that can handle around 350amps each motor.

Sounds like a cool idea, I cant wait to see some pictures of the progress.

If you must use resistor control, you will have to use a separate resistor control for for each motor. Each resistor control is only good enough for one motor. You will burn out the coils & contacts quickly if you rig one set of stock coils to 2 motors. You could rig up a linkage to operate both from one pedal.
