Accelerator pedal adjustment?
HI im new here, Been looking around for a bit.
I just picked up a 2003 IQ 48 V cart. when driving it I find that the accelerator pedal has the first 1/2 way and nothing happens. at about the 1/2 way point the motor starts to engage and the cart will run good. I do find it a little slow going up hills but im not sure what has been done to the cart before I got it. It does have Trogen T105 batteries that are a couple of years old. |

Re: Accelerator pedal adjustment?
I see two problems here. First problem is the throttle linkage. It's obviously worn. You should hear a micro switch click within the first inch or so of pedal travel. That can be easily fixed by replacing the worn parts underneath the cart. The second, and bigger problem, is that a 2003 48V cart would use 8 volt batteries. Trojan T-105s are 6 volt batteries.......

Re: Accelerator pedal adjustment?
sorry my bad it is 6, 8V Trojans, I misspoke on T105.
I looked under and there is a rod running from the pedal to under the pass side to a black box mounted to the frame. would the adjustment be in the black box. This is my first cart so sorry for the questions that may seem common. Will post more photos when I get home, that is all I had on my phone |

Re: Accelerator pedal adjustment?
The adjustment is not in that box. That box is the MCOR which is not serviceable (although some have been successful in rebuilding it)
More than likely the MCOR is bad or the bushings on the pedal group need replaced or the spline inside the MCOR (where the rod goes in) is worn and gives too much play in the pedal. A lot of guys will take a small piece of a vinyl wire tie and slide into the spline to "tighten" it up. That is what I would try first. |

Re: Accelerator pedal adjustment?
Do your brakes lock tight? Is it easy to knock the park brake loose when they're locked?

Re: Accelerator pedal adjustment?
I recently went from 77-81% throttle response to full throttle when I had the drive rod and mounts replaced. I had play in the accelerator pedal. Once fixed I gained 5 mph and speed code 4 worked which got me to 20mph. Cost $178 at the dealer. TahoeDawgZ71 and Kashmir helped a ton.

Re: Accelerator pedal adjustment?
ok it has been a bit but I got up to the cart over the weekend.
Hooked up charger when I left and it did auto shut off, no problem there. I did a voltage reading, cart wa sitting off for 3 weeks in Tow mode Total pack 51.8v Bat 1- 8.66 2- 8.63 3- 8.60 4- 8.65 5- 8.71 and 6 8.60 All look good to me. looked at the accelerator pedal and yes I found play before I can hear the click. I put on a wire tie and it helped, did nto have to move pedal as far. Took the cart out for a ride and I def had more speed and clime hills much better. Took my GPS out now the cart runs 16mph flat out. after 3 days of use, not alot of use each day, maby a hour total time each day with no charging I volt the BAtt's again Total pack 50.6 1- 8.4 2- 8.4 3- 8.4 4- 8.44 5- 8.49 6- 8.4. everything looks good again. Question is with 22X10 tires and run 16 MPH that is probabley speed 3? just a guess |
