Re: Charger will not shut off!!
Hey ayobiz , it sounds like what you need is the
Service/Maint manual it has all the procedures for both trouble shooting the OBC and the powerdrive. Didn't you say you had tried another (Good Working) charger on it and it will not cut off either. If yes then dont wast your time troubleshooting the charger the problem is some place else. |

Re: Charger will not shut off!!
I have defined that the problem is in the cart but I cannot identify it. I am thinking that I've got the wrong OBC, does anyone know what would be the correct part number?

Re: Charger will not shut off!!
Do you have your negative battery cable routed through the computer? You can check this by following it from the battery back under the rear of the car. The cable should go right through a white or silver flat square that is about 3/4" thick. From that it continues on. If the cable is not going through the computer, that is your problem. This often gets mixed up when people try to upgrade cable size or just change out cables.

The wire goes from the neagtive battery post throught the OBC to the speed controller. |

Re: Charger will not shut off!!
I now know that my battery dash light is burnt, everything else seems fine. I have been checking several online sites and I think my OBC is correct. Anyone with any clue of what is wrong with my cart? Thanks

Re: Charger will not shut off!!
So with it at 54 Volts the charger should shut off within 30 of connection.
So both your charger and the borrowed charger will not shut off ever ? And you are measuring pack Voltage 30 minutes after disconnecting the charger ? |

Re: Charger will not shut off!!
I have measured the pack about 30 min after charging and the charge rises to above 53 volts. All batteries have the same voltage. Does the battery dash light affect the charge? I have the technical manual but there is no reference for my problem. I have checked all procedures regarding OBC but still nothing different. By the way, the ammeter does lower to about 2 amps in aprox 10 minutes; it stays like that forever.
I will try tomorrow to charge it again for about 40 min to see if the charger shuts down. |

Re: Charger will not shut off!!
Charger stays at full charge attempt continuous . Have tried 2 chargers ,,both do the same.
But yet both chargers work proper on another club car. I just purchased this and the batteries are abt 1 year old. It seams to boil the batteries |

Re: Charger will not shut off!!
The charger(s) is looking for a certain pack voltage (usually 80%) to signal it to back off and go to the next charge phase and ultimately enogh voltage to signal the shut off.
Use your hand held meter to verify. Post here what the pack voltage reaches after say 30-45 minutes of heavy(15-20a) charge and what each individual battery reads at that time...... then we can tell better what's going on. |
