replaced Speed controler
I had to get my speed controller replaced, had a reman unit put in and this one came with speed 4 already in.
That was a nice bonus, I asked them what would be set to. He said they come with speed 3 programmed, When he installed mine he called me and said you got lucky and speed 4 was unlocked already. Got a $100 bonus, Im excited to try it out this weekend. |

Re: replaced Speed controler
If you don't mind me asking, what went wrong with your controller? I know you just replaced your motor, and am kinda surprised you need a controller so soon.

Re: replaced Speed controler
was not told to remove neg bat cable when working on it. I had my Tow switch off but did not know the motor cables were still powered up.
But with charged batteries speed 4 and 22" tires now runs 18mph with GPS. Good enough as speed in campground is 10. Climes hill like they were not even there now. |

Re: replaced Speed controler
If you're only getting 18 mph with 22" tires, you probably don't have speed code 4.
Speed code 4 should put you at 19 mph with stock tires. 22's should net you 22-23 mph. |

So what makes you feel that just the #4AWG gave you more hill climbing ability? Since you swapped out the motor might it have been that instead? If all I had to do was swap out the wires, do speed code 4, and then have them set regen stronger on my stock Curtis controller while they were hooked up, I would be smiling and out the door for $150 or less with no worries about melting things down. |

Im new to carts so dont have a lot of answers but the larger the wire the more amps it can carry so the stronger the motor can run. |
