Re: Stubborn Motor Removal
The controller has a half speed reverse default setting (programmable for more or less)= nice feature. It is active whenever the controller sees the cart is in reverse. Do you know who programmed the controller? If you can connect a laptop to the controller you can do alot. I set up my hotrod to drive in kiddie mode in reverse..... real gentle.

David programmed it, and I thank him for all the help. With the F1 and F2 connections being reversed, I went by the diagram from the altrax web site for the hook ups. Could they have them reversed in their diagram? I sold my laptops many years ago and went with just the IPad. Might have to invest in a laptop again. Re: Stubborn Motor Removal
I followed the Alltrax instructions to the letter and had them reversed as well.
You don't need to invest very much in a laptop. As long as it can run Windows, you are good to go. The ability to customize the program to my exact needs is one of the key selling points for me. You may find that David's programming suits you just fine. |

Re: Stubborn Motor Removal
You may want to look at the AMD 3294 motor. I have one with a 350 amp Curtis controller. I get 26 mph and it kick butt on hills. As long as you are moving when you get to the hill.

Re: Stubborn Motor Removal
One more observation.
With the new 400 amp altrax controller, 200 amp solenoid, and the 4 gauge wires, while running the stock motor yet, that my volt meter, which does not show the actual voltage, really drops when speeding up or going up fairly steep hills. It actually goes way down into the green zone. The meter never even moved before when running all stock components. Seems to drain the batteries pretty quick also. I am guessing this is because of the higher amperage being used. Since I am new to the cart obsession, I am just checking if this sounds normal? A pic of my voltage gauge. I need to upgrade to the actual volt meter. And before and after. Sorry, everything is sideways. Thanks again, Phil |

Re: Stubborn Motor Removal
Yep, the Alltrax can really suck the amps! Plus it is hard to resist the feeling you get when digging deep into the throttle! All that power is addicting

Re: Stubborn Motor Removal
One of the relatively few advantages of our 2003 series DS and its 12 mph top speed: long battery life!

Re: Stubborn Motor Removal
Yes, the Alltrax diagram has been reversed on F1 and F2 since day one. They must have printeds a million copies because 2 yrs later we still get the error-ed diagram.
