Default RXV throttle sticking

I have an RXV that started having a pedal issue. Sometimes the pedal would not return fully to the rest position. Now it's stiff through the whole travel. Where do I start tearing this baby apart? Don't want to waste effort going in the wrong direction.

Start by taking the floor mat up. Take the plate off of the pedal box and see if there is anything stopping the movement of the pedal. Sometime this area collects a lot of dirt, leaves and other things.

Yep, floor mat comes up after removing side rails (3x T-45 screws per side).

After letting this assembly soak overnight in diesel fuel I was able to free it up. Now when you let off the pedal it actually bounces off the rubber stop real nicey-nice.

Now oil the shaft thoroughly where it passes through the blocks. This will allow it to remain free to move. I use new 30 weight non-detergent motor oil when I do this, but it's your preference. Just don't use WD-40 or similar penetrating oils. The Volatile Organic Coumpounds evaporate, leaving a gummy residue that will bring your problem back. Too many people use WD-40 for the wrong purpose and it can make things gum up later.
