Default 1996 Club Car DS Turn Signal Help

I have a 1996 Club Car DS that I was able to work into the sale of my new home. The town allows golf carts on the streets, which is really cool!

Now, I need to register it with my police department. I took it over there, but failed the safety inspection due to the turn signals not working.

It had an Everlasting signal it in. Took it apart, cleaned all contacts, fixed a couple missing pieces, put it back together, and now it is not working at all.

.....

Bought a new unit (same one), hooked it up, and when I try to turn right, the only thing that happens is my right rear tail light turns off. Same thing happens when I signal for the left - left tail light goes off.

Took off the front cowl to see if I could figure out what the issue was.

Noticed that one wire in the 9 (eight actual wires) pin connector was not the same color. Tried flipping the 2 wires (on the signal, they are brown and blue). On the cart, they are blue and grey. When I did this and tried to signal, I heard a short burst of clicks coming from under the seat.

Now, I no longer have any tail lights (signal or brake), and the signal apparatus no longer appears to be getting power either. I push the brake pedal, and I hear a single click, which sounds to be coming from the relay or the flasher.

Checked any fuses I could find, and they are all ok.

Any ideas what I could have done, or could do to fix at least the brake lights for now?

Ok, an easier question -

Can I hook up a 12V lawn mower battery directly to my LED tail light to see if it is working, or will it blow it?

Thanks!

Yes, most any 12 volt source is fine. A lawn mower battery will work fine. A separate 12 volt source is a good way to isolate a problem.

Ok, I tested the brake lights, and they still work. Actually have them working again as normal now.

So, I am back to where I started at. All lights work, new turn signal, but signaling right, left or hazards does nothing.

My guess is either the relay or flasher is not working.

Anyone know where I can get one of each of these (link below)?

Actually, can someone tell me if I can get something readily available on ebay or amazon that would work in place of these? I cannot seem to find anyone who sells these exact ones.

I know the green one is a flasher, but what is the black one - a relay, flasher or brake timer?

Any help is greatly appreciated!
