Re: 2006 Club Car Precedent - Vibration... Not the good kind
I ended up spending some money lol...
I ordered the alltrax 500amp controller, D&D (502:2) Motor, and ordered 2 gauge wiring.... I love when stuff blows up... Give you an excuse to spend $$$$! |

That controller will allow you to set maximum rpm - so explosions in future will be much harder to ignite!

And I hope you got a 400A solenoid to, if not, order one! |

Re: 2006 Club Car Precedent - Vibration... Not the good kind
Forgot to mention that yes I got a solenoid with it and bought it all together as a package. I have now noticed that the existing controller has multiple wires in one connector going to other items of the car so wiring might be trickier than I anticipated. It doesn't look the 2006 wiring diagram....
Side note... Do I need to upgrade all wires from the controller to the motor to 2ga? Or can I use the existing smaller wires an just upgrade the larger ones. |

Yes. And on IQ carts most do not even replace them unless they are getting wild.... I believe they are 10ga and 6ga wires.

Re: 2006 Club Car Precedent - Vibration... Not the good kind
It would be a lot easier if I could keep the existing wires to the motor since, for some reason, the last person who owned my cart decided to run multiple wires off the controller lugs to power other items... Very confusing... But, I am thinking about just rewiring the cart from the batteries, controller, solenoid, motor and figuring out what the other wires are for....
One other issue I noticed is the negative wire from the battery back to the controller passes through a whole in a "Computer on board" mounted at the bottom of the control section. Not sure what that is... My guess is it measures amp draw through that wire, but that is just a guess. Does that wire have to pass through that section? See attached wire diagram... I am tracking the 6_BLK (W147) wire. The new wire will not fit through the existing hole... Not a problem I am used to |

That negative cable must go through the OBC if You are using the Powerdrive charger.
You can either buy a brass stud kit (item #14) below, or build your own. http://www.cartsunlimited.net/battery-cables.htmlThe 6 ga cables that go to the motor A1 and A2 are the most important cables to replace/upgrade as they always carry 100% of the motor current. All of the other cables only carry 100% of the current when the Controller is at 100% output. |

Ok, I am going to replace all the battery wires, Controller to Solenoid, Controller to motor A1 and A2 and leave all the others stock.
