Club car clicks .?
I am a shade tree golfcart mechanic, working on 2000 Club car DS,48 volt, car runs for about 20 minutes, probably needs batts, but my question is ,when I remove the charger plug from cart, I hear (I think)solenoid clicking 3 times, charger can be plugged into 120 volts or not plugged in, key switch off,in neutral, any help is appreciated....Thanks

Re: Club car clicks .?
In the Regen-II carts the OBC does the Controller Lockout by removing the "logic" power from the entire cart, including the Solenoid(s) positive activation.
When you unplug the charger, the OBC puts power back on the Blue wire and that goes to both controller and solenoid. The Key switch on the Regen-II is just an interlock for the pedal micro-switch, it does not control power to anywhere else. Unless someone altered or by-passed the blue/white wire on that solenoid (negative activation wire), It sounds like the Controller is bad. Here is a high-res wiring diagram for your cart: |
