Precedent not charging

Alright so I bought a used powerdrive charger for my 2007 precedent. It has new trojan batteries, cables look good and tight. The problem I am having is it charges for about 5 minutes or so and the cuts off and trips the little 30 amp reset fuse. I took the charger back to the place I bought it from and they said it was fine..... so I figured I would bypass the obc to make sure it wasn't that. I jumped the black wire on the back of the charge outlet to the neg battery post and did the same thing. Then I took the charger apart and jumped the the wires at the relay since that is suppose to take the obc out of the pic also. Same thing! What am I missing or is the charger bad and there just dicking me around? I wish I had another charger to test it with but I do not. If anybody is around the winston area and would let me use there charger I would be happy to buy your lunch. Thanks in advance for the help

That sounds like a bad breaker. I have (and Mooncarter too) had issues before where it popped the breaker and when taken apart, removed and reseated all the connections to everything and problem went away. I have also had to replace the relay, diode/rectifier, and breaker before. As long as the transformer is good, the rest is repairable but it does not appear to be an issue with your cart that I know of.....

But you are correct, it would be nice to have another just to test on it. Is it a PD2 or PD3?

That is an original Powerdrive or PD1. Powerdrive 2 and 3 would actually have it labeled on the front. Try the things mentioned above and then let us know. If you need a kit, David Hicks (Revolution Golf Cars has them and are genuine parts and warrantied. He is a site sponsor here.....

So it ended up being the circuit breaker. All is good and charging now. Thanks for the help guys
