I use a turkey baster (not the same one we use in the kitchen ) that way
I can remove some if I overfill.

Turkey baster seem to work the best for me...don’t overfill...use distilled water and remember corrosion come in three different colors...yellow, green and black...the most over-looked is black. Bright and shiney is the correct look for clean connections.😎

i made the mistake of using a battery fill bottle on my old batteries
fill bottles fill to the split ring, way to high for the recommended 1/4'' over plates

Yeah, I'm thinking a simple baster or squirt bottle and go slow and steady. A friend if mine was just saying he uses deionized water which is apparently made and sold for just that purpose. Our local Auto BigBox carries it. Going to check their site right now.

I wouldn't use DI water unless it was also distilled. Deionized water is water that is usually passed through several filters that have a slight electrical charge in the filter particles and the charge attracts the ions and is similar to, but not as good as demineralized water, that has been filtered, then ran through both a cation and anion vessel to remove it all. Distilled water is where it is boiled and then the steam that accumulates from the boiling water is condensed by cooling and then the condensed water or condensate is free of any impurities (chemicals, etc.) that were present in the water. If you were running the water through a generator, then use DI/DM water, but for the your batteries, you will be better suited for Distilled water.

Note- Either would be preferred to tap water!

You don't have any concerns about putting a steel pin inside a electrical battery.

Another variation on the turkey baster theme.

I checked with Trojan, they say either deionized or distilled water!

Distilled water is inexpensive and easy to find everywhere.

I wouldn't experiment with any other types of water unless you have two identical carts with brand new batteries, then wait 5 or 6 years to see which batteries last longer. Even then, you wouldn't know for sure.

Distilled water is tried and true!

Agreed. I've only heard about deionized from one person versus distilled from everyone else!
