Motor Removal Guide?

Im looking to remove my motor and send it to Plum Quick for an upgrade. Is there a walk through or guide somewhere posted. Couldnt find one myself .

Here is my way. And this is a really easy way if you have a rear seat.

There is no way I can handle the 52# motor from under the cart. I place the cart on jack stands. Remove the wheels, disconnect the motor cabling, remove the lower shock nuts, disconnect the brake cables, now remove the front & rear spring bushing bolts and drop the entire transaxle, motor and springs to the floor with your jack and drag it out from under the cart.

Now, all your access to the motor is clear. Good time to install new spring bushings as well. I am an old guy with bad wrists and can still work the transaxle and springs back into place without help. Easiest way is to work the front bolts back into the springs and then raise the transaxle & motor to install the rear bolts. I use an electric impact wrench which makes this method pretty fast.

Remove the 3 11mm bolts s3curing motor to transaxle. Of course disconnect the wiring.

BUT FIRST DISCONNECT THE PACK POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE.

ONCE the 3 bolts are removed, rock the motor and pull towards passenger side . Motor is heavy. I usually pile up some old pillows and moving blankets below the axle and let it fall off and gently land on said padding.

Got it out thanks for the advice, ended up dropping the axle. Sending it out for a Bandit upgrade. Will post back with results.

That was the safest and best approach. I still manhandle them if they have a lift, but I have smashed my fingers more times then I care to count.... One day I will learn my lesson (or indulge in self-amputation) and do it as you and PingEye3 did....

I just put a strap around the motor and use it like a handle. I don't have rear seat, I remove basket and reach down through the access hole.

I used this strap method and it was easy as I had the rear body off.
Still heavy...
