Default Rough Ride After Lift Kit Install

I just replaced a lift kit (RHOX 3" spindal lift) that got damaged after a crash in the ditch. I replaced it with an All Sports 4" SS A-arm lift. Install went very easily but I noticed that the ride is pretty stiff. I am running 20x10x10 AT tires and the tire pressure is at 20 psi as recommended. Is there any way to soften the ride? Maybe lower the pressure of the tires and what would be the said ideal pressure to help? Might I have something not set up wrong with the geometry of the front set up? Just looking for anything that may soften up the ride a bit. Thanks for any suggestions.

Well no matter what lift you have it’s not going to ride like an air ride Cadillac LoL. But I’d lower the tire pressure to 15lbs; that could help a little. Also check the travel on your shocks as they could be worn and need replacing.

I have the same lift and mine rides good. May be your tires . I have 205-65-10 turf tires on mine. 20 psi.

Thanks for the replies. I did notice that with the a-arm lift the front shocks look like there is not much travel left in them like there was with the drop spindle lift I replaced. They are original 2002 shocks. Would new shocks help possibly? I'm thinking the travel would still be the same which is not much if you look at the first picture.

New shock would def help as you’re probably bottoming out which would contribute to your rough ride

I helped a friend of mine install a similar lift. The Secret then was two eliminate the second leafspring. The ride greatly improved after that

I’ve done a couple spindle lifts and they ride very smooth even compared to stock. They use the stock spring and shocks but usually have the wheels spaced out further which helps cushion some of the suspension movement.

The A-arm loft probably has a stiffer spring than what you’re used to. If it has two leafs then it will definitely make it ride tougher because it takes more energy to compress the spring. This means more transfer of that energy into the chassis of the cart.

Drop the air pressure in those tires. You want even wear across the entire tread surface. Shocks are fine.

Thanks for the responses guys. I will drop the pressure down to 15 psi when I get home from work today and see how that rides. Will also do the chalk line across the treads to see how the treads are contacting the ground. While I was installing the A-arm lift I changed out my steering rack as the old one was pretty tired. Is it normal for the steering to be stiffer? I checked to make sure the yolks from the column to the rack were well lubed and moved freely with no binding but it does take a little more to turn the wheel. Also that stupid rubber accordion boot keeps popping off the shaft no matter what kind of zip tie I use. Anyone have a suggestion for that?

About the steering, when I put my lift and bigger tires on yesterday I immediately noticed the steering was stiffer. It’s because of the tires I think and maybe the lift? I don’t fully know the suspension dynamics in relation to the steering so this could be bunk but I did notice that change for sure.
